All the bikers we met on Provence country roads looked like they were training for Tour de France.

Les Salles sur Verdon: In 1973 the village was sacriticed for the production of electricity and disappeared under the waters at the darrl of St. Croix.

The water came from Alps. From here, we also spotted snow on the mountain.

An Alpine village, Moustiers-Ste-Marie is a lovely village, in a gorgeous setting.

The main theme of Moustiers is to sell the, admittedly beautiful, "faïence" ceramics (see also Faience Pottery), and the village is packed full of Faïenceries shops.
We did buy some Provence linen here.

Lunch beside waterfall, we ate with the sound of water!

The center piece of the village is the 12th-century Notre-Dame church, beautifully restored in 1928. It's topped by a four-level Lombard Romanesque (Italianate) bell tower, carved from golden-brown tuff.

Glimpse of Lake Ste. Croix again.

the Verdon Gorge

Little Dipper, the most travlled dog, was thrilled by the beautiful sights.

Hanging on to a rocky peak rising out of stony ground and lavender bushes, the village of Rougon overlooks the entrance to the grand canyon of the Verdon gorges
